BU Meat industry
Our meat industry is well known by its expert production, high hygiene standards and professional personnel, which are important conditions to ensure quality.
We produce over 18.000 tons of different meat-processed products. With an aim to organize activities optimally, this business unit consists of few sectors: Preparation and Control, Primary Production, Final Production, Durable Department and Maintain Department.
All production stages, packing and deliveries are under strict supervision of expert personel.Testings are made on daily basis with random samples in order to inspect taste, as well as organoleptic, chemical and microbiological characteristics. Continual cooling chain insures freshness and good products. Our factory has modern equipment for packing and adequate storage facilities, which enable durability and hygiene of products in final stage of production.
Our imperatives are European production trends. We are in process of HACCP implementation and big investments in production resources.
Development of existing capacities is according to consumer’s expectations regarding quality and taste, and to keeping of leading position at the market.
BU Animal Production
Wishing to ensure quality and products safety, Carnex included cattle breeding in its raw material bases as an absolutely essential element.
This business centre consists of 3 pig farms-in Savino Selo, Vrbas and Backo Dobro Polje.Total number of animals on all farms is approximately 66.000 heads, thereof 5.200 sows. Additionally, Carnex owns a cattle farm in Bačko Dobro Polje.
BC Cattle Breeding produces only for Carnex needs, with deliveries of approximately 100.000 pigs of different categories on yearly level.
All animals are under permanent control of expert services, and that is very valued in Carnex.
With many-years experience we have developed an adequate business system that comprehends all necessary parts starting from keeping hygiene, health protection of pigs, accommodation, reproduction, nursing piglets, feeding in fattening to dispatch and transport.
Continual research and development in this business centre brings to permanent improvements in breeding-selection, increases meat quality, as well as all performances.
BU Crop Production
In managing this sector we attempt to accomplish long-term base for normal breeding and high quality raw material for our products.
BU Plant production comprises over 5 000 ha of fertile Backa land, from which 40 % is owned by Carnex. Fields are seeded with many crops such as: corn, wheat, barley, soybean and sugar beet. The most of it is used as raw material for cattle food produced in Feed Mill Vitamix.
One of the basic factors of high and stabile yield in Plant Production, beside extremely professional personnel is agricultural machinery. Today, Carnex has the newest equipment and machines available such as John Deer and Class combines and tractors, cultivators, seeding machines and many others.
Organization of business is in accordance with agricultural activities. We are fully aware of the impact of agriculture on life environment and social matters. We take care to organize business in accordance with optimal efficiency of all aspects.
BU Vitamix (Feed Mill)
Correct choice of raw materials effects positively on quality of raw material used in meat industry. Control of cereals origin and other ingredients, adequate recipes and strict control of production process provide us with highly qualitative nutrition of animals.
Production of business centre Feed Mill -Vitamix is for the needs of our own farms and at level of 20 000 t per year. Production process is completely automated.
Vitamix has a silo for keeping components with capacity of 10 000 t, made of 12 cells 500 t capacity and 6 intercells of approximately 700 t capacity.
BC ’’Vitamix’’ was built in 1969. Thanks to permanent perfection of capacities and technologies, as permanently controlled raw materials and products, it represents very valuable ring in a chain production of Carnex.
BU Zitar (Silos)
Very important factor of Carnex production circle is storing of agricultural products. This is the main precondition for providing quality raw material for further production and that is a reason why we pay so much attention to this phase. Considering this, we deliver all the products of Plant production to the silo of Zitar .
Total Zitar capacity is 50 000 t. Silo consist of 36 cells, 1.000 t capacity and 20 intercells, 700 t capacity. It has two drying units, using gas, with 30 t/ha capacity.
Storage conditions are in accordance to valid standards, adjusted to product characteristic. Control of rooms and storage material is organized on daily level in order to preserve optimal conditions and good products.
