1958 – Carnex begins to work as an exporting slaughter house for the production of bacon primarily intended for the English market. Thus the name of the company Carnex stems from the combination of the word carne (Latin for meat) and export.
1963 – Carnex achieves record-breaking export of products to Great Britain, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Israel and Cuba.
1969 – The overall reconstruction of the slaughter house starts with the purchase of modern equipment for melting fat and filling semi-durable sausages and salamis.
1971 – The production of pates in alu-foil is introduced.
1971 – Carnex employs 1,100 employees, twice more than in the 60s.
1972 – A new cold storage for deep freezing is built.
1973 – Carnex starts the production of durable products for the first time as well as the reconstruction and adaptation of the previous chicken slaughter house, in the capacity of 7,000t of finished products per year.
1982 – Investing into new machines and equipment is continued owing to large export of products, mostly to the USA and the USSR.
1985 – The rendering plant is reconstructed and new machines are bought for the semi-cans, cans and ready meals department.
1996 – Carnex begins the integration of the production process by purchasing the Vitamix feed mill in Vrbas.
1997 – Completing the integration process by purchasing three pig farms in Vrbas, Bačko Dobro Polje and Savino Selo, land for agricultural production and grain storage facilities.
2000 – Carnex becomes a 20th Century Quality Champion, besides receiving many other awards for quality.
2004 – Investments in the amount of several million euros are made for the sake of purchasing the latest equipment for primary agricultural production.
2006 – The Ashmore Financial institution for Investment fund management becomes the major owner of Carnex.
2007 – With the arrival of the new owner, an overall investment process begins including building new and reconstructing existing capacities, modernizing and extending production processes by means of up-to-date machines and equipment with the sole aim to implement ISO and HACCAP standards.
2008 - The world famous certification agency SGS conducts the certification of the quality system in Carnex in accordance with the demands of the ISO 9001:2000 and HACCAP standards.
2009 – Upon receiving the GOST-R certificate, a permit for export to the Russian market, the first trucks with Carnex products start their journey to Russia after a longer period of time. Besides that, Carnex is awarded with the UNIDO certificate for cleaner production, i.e., for an efficient use of natural resources, an award given by the Serbian Centre for Cleaner Production.
2010 – Five new tastes of pate were added to Carnex production range (Orient, Piquant, Light Liver, Tuna and Tuna with Vegetables Pate). After a few years, Carnex started again with chicken products – PILINO, and new frankfurters were added to the range. Apart from Carnex Frankfurter, Carnex started producing Light, Piquant, Mediterranean and PILINO Chicken Frankfurter. Packaging for ready meals was redesigned and adjusted to new tendencies in packaging design.
2011 – The realization of capital investment in the field of ecology has started – construction of the Effluent Plant. JSC Carnex operates within MK Group.
